Compressed Air Audits by Centrair Air Systems

With the cost of electricity rising it is more important than ever to closely monitor your compressed air system.  Air compressors are one of the largest single uses of electricity in industry.  Much of this electricity goes to waste from inefficient air compressors, control systems, piping systems, leaks, and a host of other issues. The total cost of electricity for your compressor can easily exceed the original cost and even the ongoing maintenance costs.

A compressed air audit by Centrair Air Systems will assist in pinpointing these issues. There are government rebates through the Independent Electricity Systems Operator (IESO) and managed through your local electricity supplier (Hydro One, Alectra, Toronto Hydro etc). In many cases rebates are given for half of the cost of the compressed air audits.  In addition there are government incentives available for many efficiency improvements stemming from your compressed air audit.  For example switching to a Variable Speed Drive air compressor will qualify for a rebate.  At Centrair Air Systems we can perform the audit, walk you through the analysis, and make recommendations for improving the efficiency of your compressed air system.

Compressed air audits are usually performed covering a 7 day span.  Your plant system pressures and power consumption of the compressors are both recorded.  After the 7 days of monitoring the data is analyzed and recommendations made.  More information can be found on the Government of Canada website.
